Driven by Maddie’s deep-rooted love for big band music, she is proud to present her very own contribution - a dynamic and collaborative project co-founded with composer, arranger, and trumpeter Gabriel Taylor. The two first crossed paths while studying at the Royal Academy of Music, quickly bonding over their mutual admiration for artists such as Quincy Jones, Nancy Wilson, Thad Jones, Joe Williams, Barbra Streisand and James Brown. This shared passion has inspired a rich and varied repertoire, brought to life through Gabriel’s vibrant arrangements, predominantly of popular Black American Music from the latter half of the 20th century and selections from the Great American Songbook.

On 3 December 2025, The Maddie Martin Big Band proudly released their debut Christmas single, Be My Santa Baby, written by Gabriel Taylor especially for Maddie and the band. Following three days of recording at Pie and Mash Studios, the track was sent to Knight Time Studios for mixing and mastering. The single was then released across all major streaming platforms, accompanied by a music video on YouTube, and received airplay on several radio stations, including iHeartRadio, Bedford Radio 4, and London Music Radio.

The Maddie Martin Big Band offers a flexible lineup, ranging from a full 18-piece ensemble to a 15-piece and an 11-piece, allowing them to tailor their sound to any venue. They take pride in their quality, versatility and ability to deliver something special for every audience. The band made its debut in June 2024 at London’s Waldorf Hotel, performing as the full 18-piece big band featuring alumni and current students from the UK’s leading conservatories, including the Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Trinity Laban.
